Standard Reading 2.3: Generate relevant questions about readings on issues that can be researched.

Topic: Rights and Responsibilities

Edge Unit 6 Articles:
Level A: pg. 438-515 EQ: What rights and responsibilities should teens have?
Level B: pg. 486-577 EQ: How do the media shape the way people think?
Level C: pg. 532-627 EQ: How can we balance everyone's rights?

Directions: Students will generate five research questions based on the research topic. The questions should elicit a "yes" or "no" response or the students should have multiple choice options (a. b. c. or d.). Students should ask opinion questions and not personal questions.
Example of an opinion question: Is life better than it was 100 years ago?
Example of a personal question: Do you like computers?

Sample questions:
1. Are the rights of individuals important?
2. Are one person's rights more important than another person's rights?
3. Do you think the way people think is changed by the media?
4. Do individuals or media providers have the responsibility of ensuring information is accurate?
5. Should the driving age be raised to 18?

Once students generate the questions, they will survey 30 people. There is a survey template linked to the wiki
